For the past 2 years, Sam had been nominated at the Aliw Awards for 2 different categories – Best Child Performer in 2005 and Best New Male Artist in 2006. This year marks Sam’s 3rd consecutive year of being nominated as he is nominated in the “Best Stage Actor Musical” category for his superb performance in the highly-successful “High School Musical On Stage.” Likewise, the musical is also nominated in the “Best Musical Production” category, and Mr. Audie Gemora, its director, is nominated for “Best Stage Director Musical.”
What a year for Sam! Back-to-back nominations, from Star Awards and now, Aliw Awards. Well, from the whole SCnet family, here’s hoping and praying for the victory of Sam, and of course, to Tito Audie & the whole HSM production. But hey, nomination alone is already a big honor, especially for Sam who is the youngest nominee in his category! Way to go, and God bless on November 28!! We’re proud of you!

Why kids admire Sam Concepcion
by Yugel Losorata
Nov. 19, 2007
One of the most achieving teen celebrities today, 15-year old Sam Concepcion continues to show everyone why he is a big star among kids who would want to emulate him.
Apart from his many accomplishments at such a tender age, it is his visibility and being very approachable to young people his age or younger that makes him all the more admired.
One proof is his presence at Nickelodeon’s “Mischief Madness” held at SM Mall of Asia last Halloween. Fans and friends seem to really acknowledge his presence during the said event that turned the mall’s Music Hall into a spooky orange and black play place filled with fun and prizes.
Himself a Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Pinoy Wannabe awardee last year, Sam must have gained fans with his visibility and very accommodating treatment of them. He’s always present at events where he is expected, while other celebrities like him would end up reasoning out why they weren’t able to appear.
The top winner of ABS-CBN’s Little Big Star Season 1, Sam’s fanbase has grown from the time he was being dubbed as the “Singing Crush Ng Bayan” to eventually winning the widely-watched talent contest and getting awards and nominations from various award-giving bodies. He is said to have achieved a record-setting percentage of total votes in his win as Nickelodeon’s Pinoy Wannabe award.
To reiterate the point, he is currently the Department of Education’s Youth Role Model and Spokesperson. (more…)
