“I really don’t get easily scared with the supernatural,” Giggerboy and A-Pop teenheartthrob San Concepcion replied at conference when asked during the media conference of the movie thriller Cinco produced by Star Cinema what is it that fears him the most? He continued, “What I fear most would be actual people with evil minds like serial killers or when bad things happen caused by people around us… mas nakakatakot yun.”
The movie is a product of a new breed of creative and emboldened Philippine movie directors and visionaries that will push the horror genre into the next level. It has five horrifying episodes with an unexpected threading by a single element. Star Cinema will break the horror conventions of the Philippine Cinema when it shows in theatre on July 14, 2010.
One of the series is Braso, top-billed by three of the most good looking members of Gigger Boys: Sam, AJ Perez, and MYX VJ and PBB Season 2 runner-up Robi Domingo.
“We’re very happy that the management entrusted us with a movie. Ibig sabihin, alam nilang kaya namin, at the same time, andun yung kaba… pressure to deliver, especially horror ito,” Sam said in an interview.
AJ is thrilled to be with his buddies in this film. “Another fun experience for us… People would normally see us dancing in ASAP, pero, this movie will show our versatility as performers. Talagang pinaghirapan po naming lahat ng eksena dito.”
Robi had a good time working with his co-actors and director. “We’re comfortable na working together since we’ve already worked together in Your Song Presents Boystown few months ago. Minsan, takutan pa kami…(laughs). Direk Frasco (Mortiz) is very fun to work with… Pag kulitan, kulitan… pag trabaho, trabaho kami… Ang galing niya mag motivate.”
The Braso episode is Frasco’s first film directorial job. He is one of ABS-CBN’s young and brilliant directors. Kapitan Boom, Gokada Go!, Eva Fonda, Goin’ Bulilit and Banana Split are some Direk Franco’s shows in the Kapamilya Network. “Medyo kinakabahan kasi ito and first movie ko, in collaboration with four of the most creative minds in the industry. Makabagong paraan ng paglalahad sa mga kwentong kakaiba,” says Frasco.
The Braso episode cast includes Baron Geisler, Kristel Moreno, and Fred Payawan.
Catch Cinco on July 14, 2010 in more than 100 theatres nationwide.
